Walking trail through the Korendijkse Slikken.
The Korendijkse Slikken walking trail takes you deep into the heart of the delta where nature runs wild. It’s almost as if you’d reached the end of the world. Habitats which had been lost when the Haringvliet was damned are now slowly returning. The grasslands in this delta’s nature reserve offer a wildlife haven for waders such as the lapwing, redshank and spoonbill. In spring and early summer the dense reed beds are alive with bird activity and are home to host of other bird species. There’s a good chance you’ll see sedge warblers, bluethroats, reed warblers and marsh harriers here. Don’t miss visiting the hide and the look-out post which afford panoramic views of the Spui and Haringvliet.
A walk in the Korendijkse Slikken can easily be combined with a trip to Tiengemeten.
